THE CHURCH — April 13, 2005 While watching the pageantry and pomp in the news of the past weeks, I thought it might be worthwhile to consider some things about the New Testament church. First, Jesus promised to build His church. THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO OPY? — September 8, 2002 Let's leave Hollywood out of the church. Hollywood and the TV world have gathered garbage to sell their immoral philosophies to society for years. The personal lifestyles of most of Hollywood has competed with Sodom and Gomorrah since its creation. I wish the Hollywood type crowd would leave the Bible and religion out of their shows, plays, movies, and productions. WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED — September 1 , 2002 When the preacher was sent to Saul (later known as Paul), he instructed Saul, "And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord." (ACTS 22:16) Again it is obvious that when Saul was baptized, he was calling on the name (authority or power, c.f. ACTS 4:7), for the remission of sins. They are very practical from a "this world" point of view. However, there are some additional things that I wish to add in reference to young Christian people and Christian families.
